1997

This perhaps was my first paranormal investigation its not totally what got me into the paranormal but so many have asked me hey Rick what really got you into the supernatural. Well you are about to find out!

Back in 1997 I met a man Dave actually my exgf back then introduced me to him she was his nanny told me how he was involved with top secret projects, UFO's and other strange things. I did get a group of men together to meet with him and they were pretty big strong guys and after he explained more information on this mine all of them dropped out except me. I do not think that surprises anybody here though lol.

Back then I did not have much to live for I was some guy living in the desert drinking chocolate milk and eating ho hos for dinner. I was a sad young man who bared alot of tears back then and I perhaps was trying to find a path.

So I decided to help this man who wanted to cleanse the area a place of pure evil. This place makes asylums look less spooky.

We set off on a cold morning quite early about 8am together. He brought his pistol and I had gotten some gear for this trip. I did not even know what I was getting myself into and to this day I kick myself in the ass for not bring more film along for the adventure.

Dave and I drove further away from Las Vegas and took a turn into a canyon down a rocky dirt road. We drove for awhile and came to an open area where people were staring at us out there windows. They lived in shacks, trailers, rusted metal sheds and at this point I did not feel wanted here. But it turns out that this area is what was left of a ghost town.

We went further down the road and to the right there was a giant mound with a few holes in it. Those holes were mines of course cut sort of slanted into the hill. I found a bunch of empty shot gun shells scattered in the area. It was not to comforting knowing others were shooting guns this way.

There were roughly three separate entrances and most of this is very shady since its been years since I visited. But the first thing we did was went to the other side where we took a mine fairly far down which did lead to a dead end. It was not to bad for us there were parts that were very cold I could not even feel my hands. The wind was howling horribly so it was hard to tell if what we were hearing were voices of the damned or real wind.

We came back out and around where we took another mine embedded in the hill which led us two different ways. One way I believe had 3 feet of water that we would have to walk through so we decided not to get wet and the other way was another dead end eventually but it was much more eerie then the first cave/mine we ventured into. On some of the walls you could see occult symbols, melted candle wax from cult activity, and garbage.

We saved the final descent for last which I believe is the Techatticup where it said welcome to hell and the entrance was gigantic in size. Now I could have the mines mixed up but the historical descriptions do fit the bill. Since this was the main mine it went down very deep and had multiple paths.

We started our descent down it was very steep and getting extremely dark. I do remember all the odd symbols on the walls and debris. When we reached the bottom the path split off in three ways. One of the ways we seen a pool of water perhaps a hidden cavern and there were bones in the water which I thought was odd perhaps a dead cat.

One of the tunnels we went we could barely squeeze through but we managed to make it through ducking most of the way and it was tight. After all the southern cooking I have eaten lately I am not sure I would be able to fit through here today if we ever visit this place again.

Down this same path there was a pipe at an angle you could climb on up which led to a hole in the ceiling and a dead end where occult rituals had been practiced. There was also a burnt marker on the ground he told me a grave marker perhaps that cults use. He got on his knees and started to take out his incense.

I looked up at right before me some demonic entity with spikes on its head appeared before us. It had no form it just was solid black and was moving a few feet in front of me on the wall. Maybe it was casting a shadow but it seemed like when his head was down this thing and I were having a spiritual showdown. When he put his head back up and went to stand up the entity shot up from right to left and up the hole with the pipe and perhaps that was its lair.

Eventually we took another tunnel where Dave showed me how to see the ghost of the miners which was just a energy you could see in the dark moving around. More then likely it was residual nothing more and they did not know they were even dead from what I gathered.

Lastly we came across another tunnel and it led us to some sort of homemade wood bridge. I did not want to cross it at the time because honestly if the bridge went the fall could be deadly as below it was about 25 feet down. Across the bridge we could seen a fresh wood ladder which led down a shaft or another set of tunnels in the mine.

We shined our lights below where the bridge was and seen where the ladder led which was another level in the mine with a couple more tunnels. There was also alot of garbage down there like soda cans, clothes, paper etc.

We turned back and Dave started to light incense throughout the entire mine as we made our way out. He seen something following us and we were only half way out. He was scared tearing at the eyes, sweating, and he started to panic wanting to almost run.

We made it back but he was telling me to hurry and I started to gain a lead on him. We made it out and there was relief but looking back I could see him staring hard like something at the end of the tunnel was watching us. He told me that this would help the innocents who were killed in this mine.

We did get in the car and a group of old people passed by. Up the road was a very muddy area which once was the port for the ghost town on the Colorado river. I have read that recently its became a tourist area where people can hike etc so perhaps all that it was or was it a sinister group of people watching over this area.

I did at one time hear something big down below in the mine moving around I do not know what it was but something is deep down inside this place and some things at that time were better left unknown. We did not talk much on the way home he told me the entity I seen he encountered on a couple previous adventures. We also talked about a hidden door we found which we both could not get open. He did tell me that there is a vortex hidden somewhere perhaps it was hidden in here but I left this place with more questions then answers.

At the time though he did not give me history to the area on the way home until today I found it and brought it to you!

This photo was not taken during the investigation. However I found the photo on the web and analyzed it further finding this oddity. I do not have any ghost photos personally from the investigation since most of the roll I developed was damaged and the few I do have I cannot find right now. But if you look at this mine this is the same one I explored. What you see here is two openings in the shaft. The one to the right becomes a real steep slope going down for about 100 feet then it levels out and there are a few tunnels which lead to deeper areas of the mine. The entrance to the left I believe is a dead end and its not so steep. Its not a nice place I mean you could get lost inside, fall to your death, trip and hit your head, or get attacked by cults hell even demons. The guy I did the investigation with ran once into a man with a knife hiding in the mine.
