I visited the Massa Brothers Mine on a few occasions during May of 2008 when my car broke down. I lived actually next door to it stayed with a friend during the day then by night I slept behind a church. The mine intrigued me because I seen it when I first arrived in Jackson around March or April. I noticed a pile of rocks, a historical sign and a small path in the side of a hill.

On a few occasions I looked inside the crack felt cold air hit me in the face and thought wow it would be so cool to go on into this place even if its not that far back. The mine sits in a very historic area actually it goes under a park which is in Jackson. My son and I we climbed on top looking down and I even showed a friend who never knew it was there. 

We gathered our gear a couple weeks later lights, backpack, camera etc my friend has never done a paranormal investigation he stood almost 7 feet tall so I was laughing about how he was going to be hitting his head inside. As some of the ceiling was low in given areas.

I never entered the mine till night I had the chance during the day on my second visit but my 3rd was a night trip and my 4th was a day trip with my son. So I put it all together as one investigation. 

When Dave and I entered the mine he had me go first it was still a tight squeeze into the dark. It was cold and we found alot of litter from the 1980s perhaps even 70s like old bottles and cigg. packs.

We went in fairly fast following the tunnel to a chamber which split off to the left and the right. We liked what we seen then Dave wanted to go back to his place get more gear. We ended up spending about 2 hours inside. I noticed big spiders were crawling out from the rocks they were very intelligent and aware of our presence. 

But at times we heard things we could not explain such as talking, banging inside the mine, noises from above which could be cars, and an icy cold spot. It was very creepy I have to say sitting at the end of one of the tunnels then all of sudden you hear a voice calling out something or something banging on the wall on the opposite side perhaps another mine crossing near by. Keep in mind the mines in this area are no longer operable or are filled to prevent kids from going into them.

That night we were in there Dave ran twice the first time I stopped him as he was like someone is coming...I was like chill man but the second time a big spider crawled out underneath his head and he was like ah ah ah screaming and ran out. He was like I am out of here best of luck Lord Rick.

Two days later my son and I visited it my son wanted to see spiders and do something adventurous. My oldest is an outdoors boy into fishing....caves...mountains and hiking. He is probably a better team member then most I meet through our society. I took him in there and it seemed they had a truck around the corner getting ready to seal the entrance. As the bulldozer was moving rocks around and only a few feet away. We basically snuck in by climbing up the hill and down around the other side...took him in to see it and we left quickly out of fear of being sealed in forever.

We may or may not be able to return here very few people have been inside this tunnel its a historical landmark and its hidden quite well from public eyes. The park above it is haunted I talked with a lady who told me there are ghost there at night to since it was part of the mine. The entire area is very haunted and this will be one very special investigation Ill never forget. I may not have struck it rich but in a sense I hit a gold mine when producers look at my work.

People do not realize it but what makes us better then TAPS is the risk we take. This is the real thing sealed mines for half a century almost....giant spiders....ghost trapped in a mine for years curious as to what we are doing there.
