The cliffs leading up to Cascade Lake, Mt. Tallac and Inspiration Point are treacherous. Their are allot of curves and areas that completely sheer drop offs. I want to take our viewers on a journey in our jeep along these cliffs that overlook southern Lake Tahoe. At one point in time I was hiking below these cliffs when I found an old vintage car mangled at the bottom so we know they are deadly but would have to traverse them to get to the Bayview Trail to climb Maggie's Peak.

Inspiration Point overlooks Emerald Bay, Eagle Falls, Fannette/Dead Man's Island and Tahoe. It also overlooks the very historic Vikingsholm Castle. The point is a place where you can learn about the history of the region and even put in a quarter to use a viewing scope on some of the landmarks. Prior to hiking to the top of the peak we really would start off at this vista point which is fairly high above the bay. Only imagine what a view it must be like at the very top of the summit.

Cascade Canyon is much like a lost world as its full of volcanic domes, surrounded by peaks and at its mouth resides the monolithic Cascade Lake. The canyon most of the year has water flowing through it including waterfalls which were trickling when we arrived this time of year. During our first expedition we journeyed though the canyon which followed Maggie's Peaks eastern edge and eventually will take you up into the Desolation Wilderness.

These berries were growing not to far from the trickling creek nearby. This is a great food subsistence for bears and even a creature such as Sasquatch. There had to be thousands of them growing in this fertile moist area many of them ready to be eaten or harvested.  The premises of the video is to show our viewers that these berries could provide a creature like Sasquatch a means for nutrients just as many other forms of foliage found within this canyon.

Found near some foliage in a muddy patch we found this odd set of pudgy toe impressions. Two of the toes are extremely large and if you pay very close attention you will see where some of the Earth slipped between the sets of toes. The spread of the toes wax extremely wide up to 13" there was no track but the area had been flattened as if something stepped down and put most of the weight on the toes. I outlined the toes with small pieces of wood so I could enhance the find a little bit better for our viewers.

Jarrod and I were track finding in an area the granite was so decomposed that it was almost silty. We did find what appeared to be various toe impressions but my guess was they were more so directed at being the tracks or hooves of a deer. However take heed from this video that if your going to look for Bigfoot tracks this would be an ideal location i doing so since the Earth is very soft thanks to a seasonal creek nearby which could provide softer ground great for track finding.

As we push up deeper into Cascade Canyon we begin to rock scramble and journey up onto giant slabs of granite rocks. Along the way we discovered an outcropping of rocks we call Giant's den. It is feasible to say that the den formed by glaciers at one time could have provided a Sasquatch like creature some shelter during the winter months. If you were a cave man this rocky room would be prime real estate besides it comes with a great view.

At one time Cascade Lake served as a second Bay it was Emerald Bays Twin but eventually during the last ice age the debris closed it on off. Thus all the rock, debris and Earth was pushed up to create a barrier sectioning off the lake from the rest of Tahoe. At one time the forces of nature were very powerful you had volcanoes erupting all the way to mile thick high glaciers scraping the canyons floor carving into it and massive amounts of granite rock being moved.

This beautiful volcanic dome may not be active anymore but if your looking for a great view that peers down into the lower floor of Cascade Canyon this would be it. We would climb the dome to get better bearings since the first expedition was supposed to take place on the Bayview not in the canyon we would have to stand on top of here to come up with a different game plan on how to reach Maggie's Peaks.

On the western edge of Cascade Canyon is a series of cliffs the foliage is so thick and sharp that it really can slice your skin up. Most of the steep canyon wall is filled with red brush, fallen ancient trees and rocky cliffs. We would have to ascend out of the canyon to a ridge which follows the main peak. The problem was is climbing over the fallen trees, brush and making sure we did not fall from the cliffs embedded along the canyons wall. I called this Hells Ascension because once you get to the top you feel the burn these clips are from that journey which started at the bottom of the canyon and took us up into the Desolation Wilderness above. No pain no gain as you can see from my cuts at the end of the clip this red brush can send you into shock! The one glimmer of hope I had seen near the end of our climb was the Tahoe Queen entering the baby what a beaut!

::::::::We are sorry that the film goes black for a few minutes for some reason we reformatted the old video and accidentally deleted the original. You can see a very similar video at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IneNwBLUvK4 as they were taken at the same overlooks.::::::

The reason they call this area Bayview is simply because a portion of the trail graces the edge of Emerald Bay. This perhaps may be one of the best views of Lake Tahoe's only island and this beautiful bay where at times the legendary lake monster known as Tessie is often sighted at. We were now on the trail after we ascended out of the canyon, through the woods and finally into the Desolation Wilderness. This is a great spot just to have a brew or snack at while taking in the views.

We were not entering into the Desolation Wilderness as you can hear from my voice and breathing I am not doing well. I had gotten cut up so terribly my body was going into shock or reacting to some of the plants that physically caused my legs harm. I have to assume that I was having a reaction to those cuts that in a way it kind of poisoned me so cramps were setting in and that my hopes of climbing Maggie's Peak were dwindling. We were entering the heart of the wilderness but in some way or shape it was so serene I thought id share some of my own personal views all together.

There are many granite lakes except this one is overshadowed by Maggie's more prominent peak in the background. We spent a couple hours having a picnic on the lake it was very serene lots of nature here including some ducks swimming around and a few fish jumping. On occasion maybe a butterfly might pass by even. I was in allot of pain the cuts on my legs were deep and bleeding I think that certain brush flows through my blood stream causing spasms. While filming this I lost control of my fingers, arms, hands, standing ability, legs and anything else you can think of. The only thing keeping me focused was the lake but climbing to the summit on our first visit did not seem feasible.

While we were at Granite Lake these two people appeared out of nowhere stood across from us on the lake and instead of them going skinny dipping they begin to get it on. It was my kids that pointed it out and of course being boys they were all bragging about how they seen boob. I guess that skinny dipping is common at some of the lakes in the sierras its just part of the Sierra culture here so I respectfully filmed them from afar but no less they had no issues giving it to eachother in front of us and other hikers who were sitting on the shoreline. They were not naked and afraid but I sure was LMAO! We found also a grinding rock here it was rather unique because it shows signs that there probably was a small Native American settlement here at one time.

We had just left the lake the sun is going down the forest is starting to look thicker then what it should be. You can kind of see Lake Tahoe through the trees but light is very limited. We would head out towards an area called Bayview point it overlooks the lake and Emerald Bay below. The hike back from the lake is gentle descent I could barely even make that without having spasms or cramps. But once you see the lake through the trees you know you only have another mile to go to the trail head itself.

The kids thought this rock was pretty funny I did too it looks like it has a set of ass cheeks in it. This is the Bayview vista point. There are allot of unique rocks here including good views of Phipp's Peak, Eagle Falls, Emerald Bay and all its historic sites. I guess you cant have fun without having a few laughs all the rocks found here were put here by glaciers in the last ice age some of them are scarred up from the movement of ice scraping them No less you can find this rock at the Bayview Vista Point if you want to add some humor into your trip we did!

Despite the first rough track into this region of Maggie's Peak we finally made it back to the trail head of the Bayview. My kids thought it was funny to pick pocket me while I was filming things we also heard a big crack in the woods but as you get to the parking area there are allot of cars most of them camp and hike in the Desolation Wilderness. As you can tell from the video were relieved to have made it back in one piece but no less do I welcome all of you into my home as for me the wilderness is a second home that we must treat with great respect. To the Washoe this region here was also a second home especially in the warmer months.

This was the after show jeep party I had to pull off down the road the cramps in my fingers and lets were so bad. That is when the kids made a joke with me that some guy in the woods was flashing his junk. Why cant people just pee in a bush facing away from everyone! It was bad enough watching the hippies get it on but this guy showing us his junk yeah that put me over the top. I parked the jeep to bring out drinks, food and other special treats for everyone who helped with the climb. Boy was I exhausted I was interviewing Jarrod and fell asleep with the cam in my hand good times indeed!

This is expedition two we finally returned to the region after the King Fire in the region made the area inaccessible for the entire month of September. As you can see we are started off on the Bay View trail head not the Cascade Canyon one therefore our journey is taking us gradually into the Desolation Wilderness. What kind of things would we see on this journey and would we make it to the top of Maggie's Peak?

This truly is where the Desolation Wilderness crosses boundaries above the Tahoe Basin Forest. The two are entirely like separate worlds back here but its a good sign to see it means your entering an entirely different region of the high sierras. Just beyond this sign are multiple trails that lead down to various lakes and other interconnecting hiking trails. We were making good time as we left Tahoe and Emerald Bay behind us a new journey awaited.

At the Bayview Vista once can get great views of Fannette Island which btw is Tahoe's ONLY Island. When Vikingsholm Castle was built so was the castle like tea house on top of this island. Today all that remains is a mere shell of its former glory. But back in the day the island had many names including Dead Man's island where some temple of the dead was built on. That very same captain who built this temple mysteriously vanished just another strange thing you can add to the local lore of the area,. Sometimes people have also seen Tessie near the island which is a legendary lake monster instead I made friends with this chocolate Lab.

You have to be very careful in this dense region of forest the black bear need 25k in calories to stock up for the winter months. I can imagine the same applies to all the other beasties to as just a few days prior to this trip the area received some snowfall so winter sets in early here and animals are in serious need of scavenging what they can find.

You can see were high above South Lake Tahoe which is one of my spots I hang out allot at. They have great restaurants, comedy shows, harbors, good fishing, lavish hotels and even art shows. South Lake is a city its where everyone gathers to ski and snow board in the winter so seeing it this high above really shows you how large it has grown. Besides the fact that the ridge of Mt. Tallac is covered in early October snow already. We previous journeyed below Mt. Tallac up to a place on the other side called Cathedral Peak and Lake.

I called this area the land of a Bazillion Rocks it truly is when you think about it. There are so many rocks in this area that could hide animals or even Bigfoot like creatures. Allot of them form dens and were left here in the last ice age to weather away. You could probably ascend for a mile here and all your going to do is weave in between the city of rocks left behind from the last ice age. This is the perfect grounds for Bigfoot to roam at!

This site is often not to uncommon seeing hot air balloons over Lake Tahoe. As we ascend higher we seen things like the Tahoe Queen and hot air balloons in South Lake. For an October day its gorgeous here the weather is warming up, hikers are journeying on the trail and the lake is calm for boating. You could never seen all of these kinds of things unless you were to hike far above Lake Tahoe itself. But the higher we ascend the more we get to see.

This is a short clip but below the cliffs one can see Eagle Lake which drains out to the north creating Eagle Falls which in the Spring are raging for a couple hundred feet along the cliffs that lead up to the mouth of the lake itself. Its not a very large lake but it nestled deep below us in a narrow canyon which takes you into Desolation Valley where many lakes like this can be found.

This is truly paradise we had made it to the top of the peak and you can see many notable landmarks. Some of them we have hiked at or journey through at one point in time. I call this area gods country if that is what it could be that is what it would be. Its so serene on the peak no wind just a calm as we take in the views of all of Lake Tahoe and the Desolation Wilderness. From the top one can view numerous peaks including many large bodies of water such as Cascade, Fallen Leaf and Tahoe Lake. This was a good feeling to return a second time to the area to summit Maggie's I wont forget it for a long time. The Desolation Wilderness looks like it did when the last ice age receded not much has changed.

This was a good feeling to return a second time to the area to summit Maggie's I wont forget it for a long time. The Desolation Wilderness looks like it did when the last ice age receded not much has changed.

In this clip I move over to another part of the summit so I can bring our viewers some of the strange lore associated with the area and the scenic wonders. From on the top of the summit one can see the entire Crystal Mountain Range, Mt. Tallac, Emerald Bay, Emerald Point, Eagle Point, Cascade Lake, Fontinnillis Lake, Desolation Valley, Volcanic Domes, City Of South Lake Tahoe, Fallen Leaf Lake and so much more. I mean really this is what we live for its to stand on top of the world and see how vast a region is. Anything could be roaming this wilderness that is why its home to some of the top Bigfoot occurrences in the country. You can also see a Hawk perhaps an Eagle that flies directly over Cascade Canyon so definitely a slice of American Beauty on top of the summit.

This is our descent off the crown of Maggie's Peak the kids were packing it up not before they were hanging off some dead tree and climbing up in it at the top of the peak. We had some fun descending off of the peak I guess we were just happy to finally make it here after our second trip. Not everything we do is about hard work and toughing it out sometimes we just like to share a few laughs in this case the only one going crazy over the gummy watermelon treats was me lol. No less everyone was in good spirits we could finally descend off this beast and add it to our notch of achievements.

Phipp's Peak overshadows Emerald Bay and Eagle Lake it truly is a beast in itself. You do not hear much about it but it sort of resembled a pyramid shape kind of odd no less and its extremely steep. You can see Phipp's from numerous locations including across from Maggie's sister peak which is a little smaller in elevation. The canyon below Phipp's is full of cliffs and its treacherous to get to the bottom off but it is a good landmark to use in case you ever get lost up here you know Phipp's is a landmark that can be seen above and below this area.

Just prior to filming this clip I came across what appeared to be an ancient boot print embedded in some granite rock. This film and clip is directed more about some of the oddities I encountered on our Maggie's Peak trip. I have to admit finding the huge set of toe tracks, grinding rock, ancient alien boot print possibly and some other things like strange noises in the woods compelled me to talk about some of these experiences while descending off the Bayview Trail here. I also attach my UFO photo to this clip because it seems we encountered a variety of paranormal evidence between both our expeditions.  These ancient grounds hold many secrets its up to adventurers like us to discover them and make them known for the world to decipher.

Just remember even if something is beautiful does not mean its dangerous. This part of the trail or the Bay View vista point has cliffs and drop offs. Its very dangerous but it has many beautiful views of Emerald Bay. Right now were leaving the Bay View Vista which overlooks Emerald Bay and Eagle Lake switch backing down to Granite Lake. Its a bit of a steep track down loose rocks some steep edges one would have to be careful ascending or descending on this part of the trail. Once you reach Granite Lake its a fairly smooth descend back down to the camping and parking area of the Bayview.
