Between 1880 to 1890 a 65' long bridge was built over LeBoeuf Creek near the historic town of Waterford. Back many years ago it was called "Brotherton's Crossing Bridge" It is historic and has been restored. I have read somewhere else however the bridge is alot older then what is told dating back to 1875 then another site I read on its history said 1865 nobody really knows. Very few covered bridge remain across the country this is one of them. There was a sign on the bridge before it was painted with an actual date it was built but it has been taking down.

Today the bridge is called kissing bridge and their is reasons for why this is called that. See back in the old days couples would ride their horse and buggy into the bridge and in simple terms they would make out. Just like back in the 60s to the 80s people went to drive in theatres to do this. Now people just make out anywhere and say the hell with it haha.

But most covered bridges were known as Kissing Bridges and of course children would climb and play on the bridges cause they thought it was  a playhouse. This bridge does not have as much history as compared to the one up in Girard that we investigated years ago but its a real nice area still to check out. The railroad tracks run perpendicular to the bridge and the area is surrounded by woods and hilly farms.

My speculation would be that it was built so that the farmers in the area had a way to get into the town of Waterford to sell their produce. The bridge was recently restored with concrete, new floor boards etc to reinforce it during harsher weather.

Like most covered bridges ghost stories are told. You hear rumors about headless horsemen, ghost on the bridge etc most of it urban legend. But nonetheless where their is alot of history there are alot of ghost and so we bring you this wonderful site.
