Huguenot Cemetery

This cemetery really caught my interest and visiting here after reading about it was a real honor. The high walls around it really made it hard to see what kind of surprises lurk within. But we did enter it and just like Tolomato Cemetery this one also suffered heavy weathering and vandalism.

Many of the stones, crypts, and graves were badly damaged. There also was alot of rod iron surrounding the stones. While we were in the cemetery there was some group of guys that pulled up in a pick up truck. We hid behind a stone for awhile till they left.

Other then that it was pretty peaceful here. I could sense various ghost here they seemed actually happy that we were visiting them. There was no bad feelings here but rather lonely. Despite all the ghost tours to this place very few fail to actually recognize these entities.

The whole time we walked around I felt followed.  Not a bad following feeling just rather curiosity. Also rather then describe the stones here you will just have to view the photos because this cemetery has some very oddly shaped stones throughout it. One of them looks like a giant Easter Egg.

The activity here was quite calm although at one time I do recall hearing some gentle footsteps within. The cemetery was not very large perhaps 150 stones at most some of them are tipped over, broken, moved etc it is no wonder why the ghost are so eager to show up for a photo or two. We spent actually quite sometime here even walked down into this pit where this one grave dips down into the earth.

We then walked along the outside and I took some photos of the front rod iron gates. Since we were more then halfway done with our investigation there was some inspiration that we would complete our adventures before the sun came up. We then walked on over to the Old St. Augustine City Gates
