When you think about Goodsprings you think about the series of accidents such as the Yellow Pine Mill burning down or the Fayle Hotel burning in 1966. Its hard to believe that at one time the population here was that higher of Las Vegas. The amount of fatalities was not as high as some mining camps afterall their were only according to record 5 mining deaths. Behind the town is many dirt roads they lead off to various canyons and mountains. Some of those mountains hold mines, caverns, and even remnants of the past. The Pioneer Saloon is one of the last wood ones left still standing out of the hundreds of towns which died off. I love the town because its hilly and full of beauty. It has that old school feeling to it as if you were still living in the 1800s. Is the town haunted? I honestly do not have that answer although one can visit the grave of an outlaw......or tour the cemetery.....or traverse on the old mill ruins. Its an eerie place in one old mining house their are blankets as if someone homeless was using the place to sleep in at night. I think that the mines and desert just beyond the town has many paranormal secrets. I can tell you this for our readers.....there is ghost, demons and UFO activity in the area and its higher then usual. I felt like instead of gaining something from my investigation of the area that I lost something. We had one investigator quit because it was to intense for her to give it a second go and two other investigators were traumatized from our second trip there. You will read about that in our other updates further into our website. Below is some more thorough history on the town and even some photos. I made sure I did this investigation with video footage, photography and hours of voice recordings. This place was a spontaneous pick back in 2009. It is one of these places that calls out to you then you visit here and you realize that perhaps their is some divine intervention. The area is alluring even though you see things you shouldnt it makes you want to come back to see more. I know many groups will try to visit here after reading this just keep in mind the town is a great place to chill at but what lies beyond darkness is a whole new story in itself. The area is ancient a place where the Anasazi drank and soothed their bodies in the springs. It was a place where mining took place and even harlots. This is the wild west! © By Lord Rick

http://www.legendsofamerica.com/nv-goodsprings.html The township was
officially platted in 1904, and gradually its tents and
shacks were replaced by more substantial buildings. With
the coming of the railroad to Jean, the Yellow Pine Mine
then began to increase production and built a narrow gage
railroad from the remnants of the railroad line which had
served the Quartette Mine in Searchlight. Though the spur
to Goodsprings would take several years to build, when it
was complete in 1911, it hauled tons of ore from Yellow
Pine's 100 ton mill and haul ore to Jean. With
transportation problems eased, the town really began to
grow. Two years later, on May 20, 1916, the Goodsprings Gazette was established by Frank A. Doherty. The four-page weekly newspaper continued after the founders death less than a year later, then operated by his wife, Florence, continuing to deliver to its 350-400 subscribers until 1921. The entrepreneurial
businessman also built the Fayle Department Store and,
convinced the town would continue to be a success,
actively promoted the settlement. Though all his
ventures, other than the Pioneer Saloon, would eventually
fail as the town began to decline, Fayle would not be
around to suffer the humiliation. On December 9, 1918, he
succumbed to the Flu epidemic which was sweeping the
United States and western Europe and was buried in the
Goodsprings cemetery, where his is still the largest
headstone. However, during its
heydays, the Yellow Pine mining District earned over $30
million from lead, gold, copper, and zinc, providing for
1/3 of the total metal production for Clark County,
making it one of the most lucrative mining districts in
Southern Nevada.
