Fort Castillo De San Marcos

Approaching the fort is just amazing as this structure is just monolithic in size. So many people tell me about how I have to visit here and how haunted this place is. So the temptation of visiting here just grew as the night went on and each footstep I took approaching its moat.

We could hear the seagulls and the water hitting the rocks. It was rather warmer by the fort for some odd reason. We first approached the bridge which crosses the moat to go into the fort. At night since its locked up and there is no way in this fortress we were only able to enjoy the investigation from the outside.

We kept walking till we were actually traveling along side of the fort itself. You could clearly see cannons way up on top of the highest walls. Further away we came across a kiln. This was much larger then even the one I seen at the New Smyrna Sugar Mill Ruins.

We walked a little further to a dark corner there was something definitely there you could feel it. Then all of sudden Aaron grabs my attention and tells me that something is up in the tower just looking down at him. A friend of mine told me about the tower ghost so I assumed that is what Aaron seen.

Strange enough I could feel it up there on a psychic level but Aaron was able to see it. He told me that the ghost was just pacing back and forth in the tower. But strangely it also was aware of us and it knew what we were there for. I tried so hard to see it and this went on for a few minutes. Aaron is like don't you see it. But when I walked around the tower looking up an odd shadow caught my eye so I believe something perhaps was up in the tower overlooking the water.

Eventually after the excitement we walked up a wooden stairwell and onto the backside of the fort. We were walking and Aaron mentioned seeing a man on a bike. Well it was true a drunk man riding on the grounds of the fort approached us. He got off the bike and stumbled in front of us staggering all over the place.

He asked us a few questions about if its okay to sleep behind the fort then he begged us for a dollar after telling me to hand over my camera to him because it looked like a beer.  Then we started to walked away when he told Aaron he had a trick to show him. So he takes out two six inch thick nails and hands them to us both.

Then the man took both of them and shoved them in his nostrils all the way almost in. He started doing circus acts eventually he called Aaron over and asked him to put the nail all the way up his nose. Aaron is like asking me what do I do Rick lol. Aaron told the guy he does not want to shove it through his brain and kill him haha. So then Aaron gently pushed the nail deeper and jumped a mile because he said he could feel the nail hitting tissue.

The guy then explained he was on television for this stunt and got on his knees raised his hands at the sky with two nails sticking out of his nose. I then told the homeless guy security is coming we gotta run and we took off. The guy was drunk and probably it will not be the last time we run into him since we have more investigations downtown to do eventually and of the fort.

As soon as we made it to the other side of the fort we climbed down into the moat and I took photos of the big iron gates keeping us from going inside. We took a few photos then walked back up the moat stairs and left the fort.  There was a bad feeling under the bridge within the moat even Aaron mentioned feeling not at east here.

I found this investigation to be rather entertaining I mean the things people will do for a dollar I swear it. But I was glad we were able to visit here take some photos and get a little activity. The ghost here are very old the type that you will see in the watchtowers, walking on the bridge, putting wood in the giant kiln etc etc I believe much more remains to be seen here.
