Last night was a great opener investigation for the beginning month of October. Unfortunately with the way gas prices are we were not able to travel or our original location but we will in the future. We made a trip out to Edgewater which is a much newer town but the history within it predates to 1000's of years when the Timucuan Indians roamed these lands.

Jason and I left fairly late roughly midnight cause we wanted to get some good activity as we visited Edgewater Cemetery, Sea Pines Memorial Cemetery, Spruce Creek Preserve and a Second Investigation into the Gamble Place.

Last night's trip was more about prologue investigations focusing on EVP and other endeavors. It was a real warm night out clear skies great for adventuring and so our adventure begins here.

Edgewater Cemetery (Hawks)

When we pulled up in front of the cemetery I was astounded by its size. You would think for such a new town that the cemetery would not have grown to this mass. But long before the town was Edgewater it actually was called Hawks so this is why their was so many burials.

We did not know where to start here because their is a lot of roads and a creek that runs right down the middle of the cemetery.

The one thing that took me is the night sky. Every single star and planet was visible including the big dipper. Their were these white puffy clouds and the sky was just so clear. Sometimes I get side tracked on our investigations and start admiring the things that people often take for granted one of those things is the night.

The cemetery was very dark and the only lighting came from some building near the mausoleums. It had a gloomy feeling but it was peaceful.

We walked up to a few graves and into a sand spur bush. If anybody is not from Florida trust me sand spurs are very annoying they stick to your sneakers, skin, socks and everything else. If you try to pull on them you get pricked to a point of bleeding so yes a big ouch we encountered quickly lol.

We walked down a dirt road into the back of the cemetery it was the darkest area here so right away we got busy. It was cold in some areas back here but it was also very woodsy so I felt as if something might be watching us. We took our time for the most part slowly going around this road that took us right into the mausoleum courtyard.

I did not like the courtyard it was a built overwhelming as you walk into this big structure and are surrounded on all sides by burials within the walls. In the middle was a statue which this cemetery had very few of.

We then walked outside the mausoleum and over a bridge where this creek ran threw. We followed the creek on up till we seen a bunch of ducks. I was able to get about two feet from them and get their photo which I will add to the site as well. We encounter many things paranormal and non paranormal on our adventures but the great thing is that its a package deal you see so much just traveling place to place. Further up the creek was a shed leaning over the edge of the creek which Jason opened the doors and it just felt real odd perhaps.

Nearby we found a shovel and various pallets with gravestones on them so it was apparent that some current burials or grave stones were in the works near this area.

Eventually I had us cut into the oldest part of the cemetery which we found many brick upper burials, a few broken in half stones, one stone with a giant crack in it, and some vandalized stones. Their was many early pioneers buried here from Edgewater. With luck I walked off alone and found the founder of Hawks known as Edgewater. I do not know what it is lately but I could go into a cemetery with 5000 burials and still find the prominent individuals buried in them. In this case this man was not only the founder but the man who bought the land to have this cemetery erected.

The old section had a presence not a strong one but their were some entities within this area much more abundant then anywhere else in the cemetery. It was a more dormant type of presence where perhaps the ghost are their watching but not to active or responsive like some places we go.

We read a few older graves then walked along the road where their was this wood fence so we could get a photo of the entrance. Eventually we walked towards the car cutting through the middle of the cemetery. The one thing I noticed was an occasional old grave mixed in with the newer ones.

We did arrive back at the car and it was a real breezy night so we were able to cool down before our next place of investigating which was Sea Pines Memorial Cemetery.
