The Dummett Grave

Finding this place was a little harder then I thought since actually what it is...is a grave stone that sits in the middle of an intersection. We parked in the general area and after doing further research on the grave site I found out that I was only a block away lol. But nonetheless the area is very old being that New Smyrna is the second oldest city in Florida.

We started our walk under George E. Musson Memorial Bridge down a stone stairwell. It was dark and cooler in this area. We walked down to the river along some docks eventually at this riverside restaurant. Seeing it made me want to eat their.

Eventually we walked on the docks and seen a few large boats. I almost bumped into Jason and knocked him in the water haha. Really this was just a nice river walk for us at this point not alot of activity let alone even a breeze.

We went back up the stairs and started to walk over this giant bridge crossing the river. The bridge was fairly high up and yeah you missed it guys I got flashed haha. Its great to be the founder lol!:)

We eventually made our way into a riverside park called Buena Vista Park on the other side of the bridge. We searched the park but could not find the grave stone. Unfortunately the sets of directions I had were not very clear.

There was not much to the park but a few piers with people fishing. We went into the playground and it was a circus lol. Jason was swinging on the monkey bars, nikki was going down the slide, I was hanging upside down and mooning. Yeah it was a blast but since the ghost were not exciting we had to make something happen.

We walked back up the other side of the bridge to the draw bridge station and eventually back down to the stairs. I walked along the river stepped in some water but I was amazed at all the old stone steps from the past I found and walls.

I went for about four back yards over and then came back still did not find the gravestone. We then went over to the river restaurant again one of the employees their seen us ran inside scared lol.

Eventually we walked up to the parking lot and their were some small shops. A large white cat was looking down on us. We took our last photos then decided to get in the car to head home. By the time the area we were at was like a ghost town.

There was not alot of activity and we did not find the gravestone. I will return as I find out where it was. But the area we were at was old so I do feel there was some energy as we walked on the docks, park, bridge, and alleyways. The energy was a dreary feeling and based on the history to this little area there were some tragedies.

In conclusion to last night we had a very nice investigation.  We hopefully will return to these places in the near future for second visits. I would not say any of the areas are terribly haunted or uncomfortable perhaps the Instone House proved to be the highlight of the night.

As far as the rest of the team well they are no longer with us. Unfortunately two of the investigators have failed to contact me in a few weeks which is rude and very uncommitted. Another investigator was on probation and lied this is not the first incident. The other one was a no call and no show which has happened many times. But here is why I am telling you this. You see the paranormal takes commitment. You do not become a good psychic over night nor will I give you a great opportunity if you do not earn your keep within this group.

Friendship is one the key ingredients to having a great team but what do you do when those friends lie to you? What do you do when those friends feel clubbing is more important then the quest they signed up for. People do not understand we have rules not many but we have those that way nobody gets hurt and things run smoothly. But I am also the leader and because of that investigators think because I am this cool guy that likes to have fun that they do not have to respect me. What we do here is serious sure we love to have fun while out on investigations but it gets old when your investigators never contribute no photos, reports, EVP etc yet when you throw a party they come on over to eat and they run.  There is more to PGS then its parties and good times. We have a goal that is to bring the truth, enjoy the adventure and make friends along the way.

I work hard at what we do and I am a mentor to many but the paranormal is something that takes commitment. But it also takes a strong person to keep on pushing without giving up. Sure we make sacrifices dealing with the bugs, weather, insane people, and dangerous situations. But it also has rewards to being a part of one of the best paranormal adventure teams in this country. The one thing you must consider is never giving up eventually you will learn, see, and grow with the paranormal it just takes time.

The investigations always will go on with or without You just remember that. So with sadness there will be alot of rebuilding going on the next few months. Since we lost four investigators that will give many others an opportunity to join us and get involved.

I am sorry that the report was out a little later today the US government has actually betrayed me again and guess what on Fathers Day so its been sort of one of those days grrr. Although I will not get into details I do think that everybody should take a moment out of their lives just to experience the paranormal but to actually see what we see that in itself is a treasure in itself.

Oak Hill City Cemetery, Seminole Rest, The Instone House, Seminole Rest Caretakers Cottage, and Finally The Dummett Grave we are currently at 403 Places and 477 investigations we truly are moving right along on achieving many great accomplishments. The investigations were meant to be fun and give us a nice break from the norm.
Cheers,
