There is nothing more rewarding as a paranormal investigator then to find a location such as the Dayton Consolidated Mill and Mine. Sadly historical mills such as this may one day be completely demolished as this location has faced so many times. I have to say that out of all the mills surrounding the Comstock Lode this one is the spookiest. Not only is it spooky but it is extremely haunted. When we investigated the mill our first time we heard three knocks just a few feet away. I knocked once something knocked back and sadly I recorded it all and the evidence was stolen. However what I can tell you is our society is the first one to bring actually internal photos of this location and we hope that will enrich history to this area. We do nont ever want to see any historical site get demolished and the only way to prevent it is to show others a little hsitory which is my main goal by sharing with our viewers this monolithic structure.

Sadly many of the mills surrounding Silver City, Gold Hill and Virginia City are deplorable overran by rodents and collapsing. With enough hard work I hope to be able to bring coverage of all these locations as they are an important part of western history. Even though they remain forgotten our site serves to remember these places.

This cyanide mill and mine produced Nevada's second largest amount of gold within the state. The mill itself had multiple stories with many wood stairs and decks. It is a hazard and was even back in the day. Mining accidents were not rare men fell to there death some died inside the mines others like in Delamar inhaled to much dust where silicosis set on in. These men who died there ghost still haunts many of the locations in the Comstock Lode area and I truly was very lucky to have visited this site only to experience some really solid paranormal activity.

The reason why you will not see photos of this mill or what is inside is that nobody is allowed on the property and there is a caretaker. This goes with the cameras that survey the area and then all the hazards. I do not want this place turning into a spectacle so I am just stating the facts. I will revisit here in the future to redo another EVP session since ours were stolen nothing more nothing less. This is an amazing mill and maybe by showing it off a little it will encourage the community to work hard at possibly restoring it to what it once was.

As far as what I know about this eerie place is that at least 40,000 tons of ore were treated in its cyanide vats which also seems to be strangely the most haunted part of this site. The mills operations closed in the 1930s and a few of the local mines shipped there ore here to be processed. Allot of the newest cyanide machinery and technology was first used at this plant. New methods for using cyanide to process ore were tried here more so then any other cyanide mill in the region

The plant itself has 5 stories built into the side of the hill then behind it is the mine which from what I researched goes down over 500 feet deep. At one time the miners would have to take an elevator to get down into the mine. So were not talking a little mining operation this place was a factory with allot of machinery, employees and buildings on site. I am not sure when mining operations began here as the mine may be allot older then the actual mill. I did read an article from the caretaker stating that operatiions began here in 1935 that is however the mill alone.

Mining in Silver City has been going on since the mid 1800s and at one time or another plants, mines, factories and industrial complexes once filled the entire area. When one mill was torn down a new one went up in its place. The entire area is clouded with mining history and all that is left of it is mills just like these.
