The Buffalo Psychiatric Center is another pavilion or branch of Richardson's Buffalo Asylum. This building is one of the five pavilions that were built around 1896.The purpose this one had was housing women. It was made out of bricks from a local quarry due to economy problems rather then the other materials which were used to build the main buildings of the Richardson asylum. Every floor had a recreation room or dining room a few lounges with a roaring fireplace. 

This building was constructed to house women perhaps as a therapeutic way of treating them. Since behind this building was a farm and the women could work, live here and be treated. The building is very colonial looking and for 100 years old its almost like brand new. There was a memo on one of the walls that stated 1981 assuming that is probably when this building became fully dysfunctional. At first we thought this building was building was part of Buff state college since it looks more like a school and is near similar college facilities on site. There is only 2 pavilions standing out of the 5. Walking through this place is so amazing the inside is so preserved some rubs, shiny glistening bathrooms made out of marble, oak shelves, Ect As you walk though it you could feel a part of history flowing through your veins like someone reading a book next to the fireplace, or a lady looking out the third floor window, or the sun coming through the windows on a hot summers day. 

There is a secret door in the basement we have to assume this led to the administrations building just a 150 feet away. It looks like the inside of the building has been remodeled although nobody has been in here for years its as if the ghost of the past are still dusting and cleaning this old historic building. One thing is for sure that this place is still very much alive.
