Brooksville
Cemetery
We drove around it and could not believe how large it looked almost a
foreboding sense as it sits right in the center of a neighborhood. We
parked and hiked on in...Beast made one hell of an entrance its been
awhile since he has gone out like this so I wont hold it against him I
dont feel bad I have had many worst entrances to cemeteries in the past.
There were no stones in the cemetery for the longest time even though the
land is very large for this cemetery all the graves sit in only half of it
in a very woodsy area. Beast was on the phone with Mike when Mike said
that the signal was fading and that his voice sounded different. We were
getting interference not only that but his phone had a signal and would
not work. At that point to our left is some woods they are
thick...spooky...filled with swamps...vines..etc I heard something follow
us along the tree line even Beast said he felt something right when we
entered. It was like woosh bam as soon as we crossed into hollowed ground.
After that things seemed calm we heard a branch break their was a lot of
acorns falling out of the trees. Many of the oaks were very old area
something that a lot of other ghostbusters and news crews refer to is how
the trees are large and hammock the cemetery.
We kept walking through the newest area and as we went to the front the
graves became older till we reached the historical section. I was kind of
sad thought I would see many older graves cause rumor has it some graves
date back to the 1820's but we only found ones from the later 1800's. Some
of the statues....crosses....tombstones were pretty nicely carved.
We went our own ways for awhile and took photos. I seen a series of old
stones covered in brush that area felt cold. I didn't see to much out of
the ordinary you read a lot of stories in the paper about places and
sometimes they are just like Beast said haunted only on certain
nights. We heard some guy in the distance screaming definitely not ghostly
just funny to hear it.
We spent awhile here just studying dates on stones....I felt a few cold
spots...felt watched the entire time almost like something was up in the
tree just looking thinking what the hell are these two idiots doing here
lol. It was a must see for our group and it is a place that deserves
respect as its one of the oldest cemeteries in Hernando County.
We also came across a historical plaque which talks about its first burial
here I thought that was pretty interesting because the headstone and tomb
no longer exist so basically the only thing marking it is the historical
marker.
Basically the history write up I do...stories..photos...and EVP will speak
for itself when I add it to our site. We then moved onto the Rogers
Christmas House after two hours of looking for this cemetery with at first
no luck.
