Last night I could not wait to get out investigating since I will no longer be living in my historical home in the near future I was pretty sad:( So I could not wait just to get out and interact with some very interesting places as we visited Big Tree Park, Candy land Park and Longwood Cemetery getting as far away from Deland as possible.

Jason and I were very lucky cause we seen something very few get to see which I will get into further below in my report. We got an extremely late start past midnight actually but in a way it was beneficial to the investigation as the activity was really heightened. We went to the store to pick up some food then we got on the expressway out to Longwood a little burb of Orlando.

We are very fortunate because on the way up to Longwood a bus almost hit us it was all over the roads and almost ran us off too. So it was one of those nights full of strange events oddities etc all brought to you by PGS and so our adventure starts here.

Big Tree Park

When I did the research on this place I was like wow and the place is just what it is a park with a tree. When I say tree I mean a BIG tree actually two big bald Cypresses.

We hiked for awhile in a wooded area and eventually came to the front gates to the park. The rest room facility had some lights on off in the distance other then that the area was fairly dark.

Their were many large trees covering the front grounds with these stone picnic benches scattered all over the place. It was fairly quiet at first no activity but we had to feel out the area a little bit as there was a few different turn offs and small structures on the site.

Jason and I were searching for the Senator Florida's largest tree if not one of the biggest in the country. We walked around a low area and it was fairly wet so it was obvious this area was swampy great for cypresses to grow in the tree of the south.

I came around the restrooms and found a board walk. At the trailhead was a sign which explained the history of the tree, stats, and area. It was a fairly interesting read then we went off into the woods. We got about 200 feet into the woods when I heard this moan. It sounded like a man and there was movement off into the woods.

The area was fairly thick with brush and I kept feeling as if we were watched. There were areas that were also swampy and Jason pointed out to a creek nearby. It was odd just to see a creek surrounded by all this brush I felt like we were in the Amazon jungle or something you would see in the prehistoric times.

The moaning in the woods was getting out of hand I mean that's all I could hear and the thing is that it sounded like something moving around the woods. Other then that it was fairly quiet and I almost put my hand on a recluse spider last night  not good. After that we came around the bend and their it was the Senator.

This tree looked like it belonged in a dinosaur movie it was surrounded by rod iron with a plaque. Jason had to shine the spotlight all the way up it as this tree was very tall roughly 150 towering into the sky. It is a bald cypress tree so there are no branches on it except for the very top. We took some photos and really the camera at night could not possibly capture such a tree of this size but I still took some photos surrounding the area.

I heard some guys shouting off in the distance we do not know if they were people partying, someone in one of the houses a mile away, or maybe someone hanging out on the tracks which runs along the park. They were not to far away so we had to be fairly cautious.

I took some more photos of the tree and to give you an idea of the circumference size its is between 48 to 54 feet so roughly it would take 9 people holding hands to encircle this tree. I did not like the area surrounding the Senator. It felt very uncomfortable a very chased out feeling we had even Jason did not like this place. The foliage, big trees, and all made it all the more interesting.

We climbed back up onto the deck and took it further which led to another big bald cypress. This one was fairly the same size as the Senator Tree except this one had no plaque. We walked around it and near the back of the tree we found a single footprint which we thought was odd in the mud.

We took some photos of the tree and it has this weird big knot growing on its side. Then nearby we heard a train come through. The moans in the woods started up again they were not animal like that is the one thing I noticed. They sounded more like a man in pain or something trying to startle us. As we took a few more photos an owl nearby started to screech. This owl was pretty active for awhile.

We then got back up onto the deck and noticed many different spiders running all over it looked like a scene from the movie arachnophobia lol. There was many different spiders including this giant one stretched out onto a web.

We eventually headed back to civilization took some photos in the park area and left the woods. I do have to say this was a very interesting place equally haunted as well as amazing. That is the one thing I love about investigating is that we get to see some of the most unusual places. How many get to see a 3,500 year old tree?

We were walking back to the car and I fell into a ditch Jason thought it was funny cause one minute I am walking next to him then a second later I was gone. After we visited here we headed on off to Candyland.
